Table of Contents
The Community Day and Community Day Classic are monthly in-game events to celebrate the game's dedicated community by highlighting a popular Pokémon. This featured Pokémon will spawn more frequently for the event duration, allowing Trainers to meet up with others in local environments worldwide.
We’ve detailed everything about the upcoming Community Day events, including the schedule, bonuses, and the featured Pokémon list just below.
December 2023 Community Day List
- Community Day 1: Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Featuring: Slowpoke, Galarian Slowpoke, Togetic, Chespin, Fennekin, Noibat
- Community Day 2: Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Featuring: Poliwag, Wooper, Paldean Wooper, Timburr, Axew, Froakie, Grubbin
Community Day Note: During the last 10 minutes of every event hour, you might encounter the following: Charmander, Squirtle, Mareep, Swinub, Larvitar.
Community Day 1
Date: Saturday 16th December
Start Time: 2pm to 5pm local time
Featured Attcks: Due to the number of Pokemon spawning we've put all the info in the drop-down below
- Slowpoke: Evolve Slowpoke or Galarian Slowpoke to get a Slowbro, Galarian Slowbro, Slowking, or Galarian Slowking that knows the Charged Attack Surf.
- Togetic: Evolve Togetic (Togepi’s Evolution) to get a Togekiss that knows the Charged Attack Aura Sphere.
- Chespin: Evolve Quilladin (Chespin’s Evolution) to get a Chesnaught that knows the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant.
- Fennekin: Evolve Braixen (Fennekin’s Evolution) to get a Delphox that knows the Charged Attack Blast Burn.
- Noibat: Evolve Noibat to get a Noivern that knows the Charged Attack Boomburst.
- Charmander: Evolve Charmeleon (Charmander’s Evolution) to get a Charizard that knows the Fast Attack Dragon Breath and the Charged Attack Blast Burn.
- Squirtle: Evolve Wartortle (Squirtle’s Evolution) to get a Blastoise that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon.
- Mareep: Evolve Flaaffy (Mareep’s Evolution) to get an Ampharos that knows the Charged Attack Dragon Pulse.
- Swinub: Evolve Piloswine (Swinub’s Evolution) to get a Mamoswine that knows the Charged Attack Ancient Power.
- Larvitar: Evolve Pupitar (Larvitar’s Evolution) to get a Tyranitar that knows the Fast Attack Smack Down.
Event Bonuses:
- 2× XP for catching Pokémon.
- 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
- 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event period.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive XL Candy from catching Pokemon.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- One additional Special Trade can be made, for a maximum of two per day.
- Trades made during the event will require 50% less Stardust.
Bonus Raids:
Following the Community Day event, from 5pm to 10pm, you will have the opportunity to battle either the following pokemon in 1-star raids:
- Sandshrew
- Alolan Sandshrew
- Alolan Geodude
- Hoppip
- Teddiusra
- Galarian Zigzagoon
- Spheal
- Starly
- Roggenrola
- Litwick
- Deino
- Stufful
If you manage to defeat one of these Pokémon in a raid, more pokemon will appear around the Gym which hosted it for 30 minutes. During this time, they will have an increased shiny rate, similar to those that appeared during the Community Day event.
Do note, these raids can't be joined using a Remote Raid Pass.
Field Research
December Community Day–themed Field Research will be available, priced at US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency)!

- Poliwag: Evolve Poliwhirl (Poliwag’s Evolution) to get a Poliwrath that knows the Fast Attack Counter.
- Wooper: Evolve Wooper to get a Quagsire that knows the Charged Attack Aqua Tail.
- Timburr: Evolve Gurdurr (Timburr’s Evolution) to get a Conkeldurr that knows the Charged Attack Brutal Swing.
- Axew: Evolve Fraxure (Axew’s Evolution) to get a Haxorus that knows the Charged Attack Breaking Swipe.
- Froakie: Evolve Frogadier (Froakie’s Evolution) to get a Greninja that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon.
- Grubbin: Evolve Charjabug (Grubbin’s Evolution) while near a Magnetic Lure to get a Vikavolt that knows the Fast Attack Volt Switch. Grubbin that evolve into Charjabug during that period will also know Volt Switch!
- Charmander: Evolve Charmeleon (Charmander’s Evolution) to get a Charizard that knows the Fast Attack Dragon Breath and the Charged Attack Blast Burn.

Community Day Classic
NOTE - The next Community Day Classic event isn't scheduled until Saturday, January 20, 2024. So far no details have been shared on what to expect.
Date: Saturday, November 25, 2023
Start Time: 2pm to 5pm local time
Featured Attack: Evolve Flaaffy (Mareep’s Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get an Ampharos that knows the Charged Attack Dragon Pulse.
Event Bonuses:
- 1/4 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in Incubators during the event period.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day Classic for a surprise!
Mareep Field Research:
- Catch Mareep to earn rewards, such as additional encounters with Mareep, Stardust, Great Balls, and more!
Pokéstop Showcases
- Be on the lookout for Showcases at different PokéStops during Mareep Community Day Classic!
