The Warhammer 40K community has been waiting patiently for Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2, a highly-anticipated sequel from Saber Interactive, where they can once again experience the superhuman skill and brutality of a Space Marine.
While the game was supposed to be released in 2023, the publisher, Focus Home Entertainment, had some rough news to share with fans. Yes, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 has been delayed, and it might be a bit of a long one.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2's Delay
In a Press Release, publisher Focus Home Entertainment talked about their lineup of titles and noted that Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 has been delayed until the second half of 2024, which means at least a 7-month long wait for fans. The publisher explained:
The game [Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2] is now poised to ship in the second half of 2024, to provide the time needed to properly polish the game and to ensure the best possible experience. Focus Entertainment is committed to releasing a game that is of the highest quality and that exceeds the expectations of the countless fans of the franchise. Space Marine 2 has already accumulated over a million wish lists to date.
Precisely how many months fans will have to wait is still unclear. However, we will get an update from the publisher in "early December," as Focus Home Entertainment has noted the "official launch date" will be revealed.
Considering the second half of 2024 release window, the wait is at least seven (7) more months. However, needing to polish the game is not a bad thing, as we would rather have a sound experience than a buggy one...
