Destiny 2 Warlord's Ruin is the latest dungeon to be added to the game as part of Season of the Wish. With a long wait ahead of fans until the launch of the next expansion, Guardians can certainly use all of the content they can get to keep them occupied.
This Dungeon won’t become a part of the Weekly Featured Raid and Dungeon Rotation for another two seasons, but players still have up to three opportunities each week until then to get drops and rolls. So we’ve compiled a list of everything you could need to know, ahead of the dungeon going live.
What Time Does Warlords Ruin Start
The Warlord’s Ruin dungeon for Destiny 2 will be released on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 9 AM PST.
Destiny 2 Warlord's Ruin Dungeon Overview
So far Bungie has kept incredibly tight-lipped when it comes to the new dungeon for Destiny 2 Season 23. Even now, days before launch the team has only seen fit to give the following message to fans:
"We are keeping the details about this one close to the chest, but let’s just say the Dreaming City is not the only cursed place you’ll visit during the Season. Ok, one more thing: Rocket-Pistol."
Even the YouTube video from Game Director Joe Blackburn - in which it was announced that The Final Shape had been delayed - only saw fit to reveal the name 'Warlords Ruin' adding that he was "a little worried that someone from the Raid and Dungeon team is going to hear me and come barreling through the door [to stop him]".
Suffice to say, Bungie wants players coming into this dungeon completely cold, so it's hard to know what to expect at this early stage. However, we do have a couple of leaks via @BungieLeaks on Twitter (more on that below)
Warlord's Ruin Leaks
SPOILERS AHEAD DO NOT READ IF YOU WANT TO GO IN BLIND
Right, we have warned you. According to a few known leakers and dataminers, Warlords Ruin has the following description:
"Uncover buried histories and lingering grudges within a ruined Dark Age castle."
However, in addition to the above, Rocksiza in the BungieLeaks discord channel posted some info which suggested that Warlord Naeem will befriend Shaxx and use an Ahamkara skull (named 'hefnd', which means revenge) to seek some sort of vengeance. More precise info can be gleaned on the tweet below:
Warlords Ruin - What To Expect
Suffice to say players should expect to see four different boss encounters which reward players with various Legendary weapons and armor. We're fairly confident of it being 4 encounters, as the names of 4 bosses were leaked earlier this week by data miners.
The Warlord's Ruin bosses are:
- Hefnd’s Vengeance
- Blighted Chimaera
- Locus of Wailing Grief
- Rathil, the Broken Knight
For the time being, it's not known whether the exclusive dungeon Exotic will be obtained from a particular Exotic Quest or via the more standard procedure, where the exotic drops from the dungeon's final boss.
Destiny 2 Warlords Ruin Dungeon Loot Table
At the time of writing we don't know which exotic weapons or armor pieces will be dropping from each specific encounter (we'll update our Warlord’s Ruin loot tables later today once we've run through the dungeon ourselves). However for the time being, we do know the names of the exotic pieces thanks to those data-miners of the game's code. We've listed all known weapons and armor pieces, just below.
Warlord’s Ruin Weapons
The Destiny 2 Warlord’s Ruin weapons are:
Weapon Name | Weapon Type |
Vengeful Whisper | TBC |
Indebted Kindness | TBC |
Naeem’s Lance | TBC |
Dragoncult Sickle | TBC |
TBC - Dungeon Exclusive Exotic Weapon | Exotic Void Rocket Sidearm |
Warlord’s Ruin Armor
Warlord's Ruin in Destiny 2 will feature one armor set per class, just like every other dungeon. Although we don't have the names of the armor set in question, we do have something better - a preview of the armor that has leaked online. We've now added an official image of the new armor sets, released by Bungie:
Warlords Ruin Dungeon Secret Hidden Chests
We don't know for sure, but the Warlords Ruin dungeon will most likely have a few hidden chests scattered throughout. For now, consider this more of a PSA to keep your eyes peeled whilst playing. We will of course update this section once we've run the dungeon for ourselves and gathered a few screenshots.
