Table of Contents
The Wraith is not commonly regarded as one of the strongest killers in the horror game Dead by Daylight, but his power can still pack a punch in the right hands. With his ability to sneak up on survivors and his mobility, he excels in some areas while struggling in others.
Let's go over all of the top Wraith builds in Dead by Daylight, as well as which perks tend to work best on this killer so you can make the most of his power during your games.
The Wraith Power And Perks
Before we delve into the best builds for The Wraith, let's look at this killer's power and teachable perks so you know what you're working with.
First, here are The Wraith's three teachable perks:
Predator
-
Scratch marks left by Survivors spawn slightly/moderately/considerably together.
Bloodhound
-
The blood of injured Survivors are shown as bright red, and can be tracked 2/3/4 seconds longer than normal.
Shadowborn
- Your FOV (field of view) is increased by 9/12/15%.
The Wraith's power is called 'Wailing Bell." The in-game description reads as follows:
- "A heavy cast iron bell imbued with ancient powers. Allows its user to enter and walk the spirit world when rung.
- Press and hold the Power button to cloak. Press and hold the Power button again while cloaked to uncloak, granting a burst of speed upon reappearing.
- While cloaked, The Wraith is granted increased movement speed and near total invisibility."
Best Wraith Builds In Dead By Daylight
The Wraith is a great killer for starting out in Dead by Daylight, as his ability is extremely simple to understand and use. As you are familiarizing yourself with this killer, you will probably want to try out several different builds to figure out which is your favorite.
Beginner Wraith Build
If you are just getting started as a new Wraith main, it might be hard to decide what aspects of gameplay you want your build to focus on. Wraith is a great killer for all-out beginners, so this build focuses on getting a sense of the game, finding survivors, and using the fundamentals of Wraith's power.
- Whispers
- Jolt
- Hex: No One Escapes Death
- Sloppy Butcher
All of the perks included in this build are general perks, meaning they either come by default with The Wraith or can be found in the Bloodweb of all killers without prestiging or reaching level 50.
Whispers is the perfect tracking perk for Wraith, ensuring you know where survivors are at any given time so you can sneak up on them. Jolt offers you generator slowdown when you earn a down, while Sloppy Butcher helps with healing slowdown. Hex: No One Escapes Death provides extra insurance at the end of the match in case things don't go your way.
Generator Regression Wraith Build
If our beginner Wraith build doesn't catch your eye, might we suggest another loadout that focuses on a strategic approach to preventing survivors from completing the generators.
- Brutal Strength (The Trapper)
- Call of Brine (The Onryo)
- Eruption (The Nemesis)
- Overcharge (The Doctor)
Almost every perk in this build is dedicated to preventing generator progression one way or another. Since Wraith is highly mobile on his own, you won't need to worry too much about chase when playing this killer as long as you can slow down the generators long enough, as downs will eventually come if you're persistent. Brutal Strength gives you that little extra edge in chase, though, that makes this build absolutely perfect.
Tracking Wraith Build
As The Wraith, you are a highly mobile killer, so you should be able to get the initial hit on survivors without the help of perks. You may, however, have trouble finding them. This build helps with that weak spot, allowing you to get a sense of where survivors are using your perks.
- BBQ & Chili (The Cannibal)
- Jolt
- Infectious Fright (The Plague)
- Discordance (The Legion)
Nearly all of the perks in this loadout help with tracking - including BBQ & Chili, which shows you survivors' auras after a hook, and Infectious Fright, which will make survivors scream when you get a down. Discordance, too, will help you find survivors' locations by illuminating generators multiple survivors are working on. Jolt adds just a bit of regression into the mix, ensuring that you don't lose generators too quickly.
What Are The Best Perks For The Wraith?
We've given you some builds to test out on The Wraith, but you might be wondering what the best perks are on him.
A few of the best perks on Wraith are:
- Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Nemesis)
- Call of Brine (The Onryo)
- Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis)
- Eruption (The Nemesis)
- No Way Out (The Trickster)
We recommend mixing and matching the perks in the builds we've provided to create your favorite loadout. As you familiarize yourself with this killer, you'll determine which perks are your favorites and be able to mix and match these perks effectively.
