When Is Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 Starting?
Epic Games likes to keep the date and time of the next Fortnite season a surprise. However, according to the date indicated on the Battle Pass, Fortnite Chapter 4 Season OG (v27.00) will go into downtime on 2 December 2023 at 11:30 p.m. ET, after the Eminem "The Big Bang" live event.
That means that Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 will be available to play on 3 December 2023, presumably from around 6-8 a.m. ET after the server downtime has concluded. Note that downtime started earlier than usual at 23:30 PM ET.
It's typical for Fortnite to experience server downtime shortly before Epic Games rolls out new updates — so expect matchmaking to be temporarily disabled and the Fortnite servers not responding for several hours. This usually happens from 3-4 a.m. to 6-8 a.m. ET (7 a.m. to 11 a.m. UTC), but it may begin earlier or later for any number of reasons.
However, once the server maintenance period is over, the next update of Fortnite will be live to play. Please note that Epic Games could change the start date and times at any moment; in this regard, we will update this article with the appropriate changes.
