In celebration of all things relating to the fantasy role-playing game (RPG), Dragon Age, the community-driven event, Dragon Age Day kicked off spectacularly this week. Years after its initial announcement, developer BioWare released the teaser trailer for the next entry in the Dragon Age series, Dreadwolf, to the surprise of avid players.

As Dragon Age Day is an annual celebration event dedicated to the wider Dragon Age community, the release of the Dreadwold teaser will see more game reveals during this celebratory event. The teaser trailer reintroduced players to familiar locations, Antiva, Rivain, and the Anderfels, which are set to be primary locations for Dreadwolf.

The teaser trailer begins festivities for Dragon Age Day 2023, which, according to the developer, includes Community Artworks and more Dragon Age content over the next few days. Additionally, the developer has confirmed that the Dragon Age community will be treated to more Dreadwolf content throughout Dragon Age Day 2023.

This also includes more reveals for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and these key locations, Antiva, Rivain, and the Anderfels, according to the Dragon Age Day post by Bioware's Game Director, Corinne Busche, and Senior Production Advisor, Mark Darrah. As these areas have been visited by players and fans across multiple Dragon Age media, this time around, they'll see more of them, which are populated by fascinating characters and unique stories.

"The desolate, beautiful badlands of the Anderfels with curtains of distant mountainous spires. The twisting canals and gleaming towers of Antiva, where Crows may lurk in any shadow. The turquoise seas of Rivain with its rushes of greenery and hardy sea-faring people."

This narrative of Dreadwolf felt appropriate for the developer to continue the Dragon Age saga in Antiva, Rivain, and the Anderfels. "It's allowed us to create many more locations than past games, including both some you've longed to go to…and some you've never heard of before!"

As Thedas has now called players to the Dreadwolf teaser trailer, "the stage" has officially been set, as we will be anticipating more Dreadwolf news in the coming months. Furthermore, the developer confirmed this: "In summer 2024, we'll be fully revealing Dragon Age: Dreadwolf to you!"
